’Wonderfalls’ just fell

R.K. Shull

Tuesday 13 July 2004, by xanderbnd

Dear R.K. Shull: Why didn’t they keep "Wonderfalls" around long enough for us to really get a sample to see if we liked it? — B.J.

Dear Reader: Fox gave it a spring tryout and a quick hook.

Dear R.K. Shull: Why all the excitement about "Gilligan’s Island?" — L.M.

Dear Reader: The original show was from the ’60s when fans thought dumb was delightful. Now "Gilligan" is one of TV’s greatest cults.

Dear R.K. Shull: I recently saw Craig Stevens in an old movie and could not remember his detective series. There was also a fat man in the same movie who had his own series years ago. Also, who played "Mannix?" — K.W.

Dear Reader: Stevens (1918-2000) was "Peter Gunn" on NBC, 1958-1960, and ABC, 1960-1961. William Conrad (1920-1994) was "Cannon" on CBS, 1971-1976. Mike Connors, now 79, was "Mannix" on CBS, 1967-1975.
